Oh well, at first I thought that I’ll post something else other than April’s fool day devilry cause there will be enough shenanigans flinging around today. But after some…revelation I’ve read today, I feel I got to unburden my mind.
Note that this is just some mindless rant that is full of self serving ‘me-ness’. Read on your own risk…
I have to vent off….should stay detach but to hell with being rational today.
Most of you would now know about the fake dorama in the anime blogging scene. As for the act itself…it was brilliantly pulled off, I reckon. I swear people were going ape shit about it. Opposing camps were divided, battle line was drawn. Hell, they were enough holier-than-thou attitudes being tossed around.
Heck, I was also one of the bloke with the holier-than-thou thoughts in my mind. I mean, why the heck one would slag some poor blogger because of one own preference. So yeah, in a miniscule sense I gave out some support to the ‘oppress’ one. I felt so stone cold righteous.
Then the truth was slap on me today. Let just say the first word I uttered after learning what it was all about was a Russian curse(about one’s mum) I haven’t use for a long time. So my righteousness was all for naught. My good intention was misguided. Might got nothing to do with me but I’m still pissed. I should be detached but screw it. What a fool I felt I was. Oh God, this is so sweet fuck all situation. And it was not FUNNY, not at all. Thank god there was some good souls who somewhat lessen the blow for me.
If you reckon this sounds whingeing and all, FUCK it, I don’t give a damn. Got to let off some steam, remember?
Phew, that’s it…my once and only piss off ranting on this matter. Normal sunny-side-up me will resume tomorrow.
Addendum (2nd April): As the storm dissipate and my head is all cooled off, I would like to say sorry if anybody is offended by my ranting above. The dorama was like a social experimentation (thanks Caitlin for the links) and in a sense I reckon I acted like part of the tapestry I was suppose to be, a fool all pissed and bothered about it. Now it’s all out of my system, finisio. And Owen, mate, thanks for being understanding.

I can’t deny it was executed brilliantly but I am also not sure if it was actually funny. Admittedly, I’ve been paying attention to Obama’s speech on racism and the subsequent dialogues on racism and sexism in the news. One of the points people have made is that (in US culture), sexism is treated like a big joke.
Perhaps this is why I’m not fully vested in the anime blogging community.

Many in the anime blogging community was mightily pissed at what they considered ABC was; a bunch of heartless jerks. It appeared that faecal matter really hits the fan and both left & right, up & down was covered in the nasty stuff. It was turning nasty…
Then it turn out to be an elaborate April Fool prank….
As to why I was pissed enough to rant like an insane f***er above, I was one of the people who were supporting the so called ‘oppress’ one. I was ready to jump on to the bandwagon in slagging those heartless twit, especially Owen. After finding out that it was a prank, I felt emotionally betrayed. Let just say the post above was my knee-jerk + over the top reaction to it.
I agree with Kurogane. Awesome pic.
