First of all I would like to say sorry for the lack of post recently. It was due to a number of circumstances (work, impromptu holiday, funeral, ubw, honest-to-god-Rin-sama-goodness-ubw & more UBW) that contribute to the absence. After missing a number of cons, sure as heck I didn’t want to miss ACGC. So without ado, here my piece about ACGC 2008: Day 2…
Oh before I proceed even further, this post is pic’s heavy and I want to apologise for the quality of photo. Most of it is definitely below par, guess I muck up real bad. Gomen-ne?
As I miss the first day of ACGC, I decided to attend the day 2 which fall on Sunday 23rd. So armed with my camera and pocket notebook (which makes me feel like Kintaro from Golden Boy) I set out to the ACGC venue located at Berjaya Times Square.
Since I arrive wee bit too early (the events start at 11 while I arrive 10 exact, baka-bakaaa) I decided to have a drink first to wile away the times. And since I was almost brain dead from lack of sleep, what better drink to be had than a glass of ice cold white coffee. Hmm, white coffee…Wonder what the boys at the host club will think bout’ this kind of coffee.

On an amusing side note, before heading off to the event, I headed off to the loo less it interfere later on. In front of me was an elderly couple. We ran into a group of cosplayers putting their final touch up of their costume. It was kinda funny looking at the elderly couple reaction when they saw the cosplayers. I swear they were going from o_O to pure bemusement.
Since there was nothing much going on, I ended up watching, like a zombie, the Call of Duty 4 tourney until 12-ish.
After that, as I started to wonder around, I was fortunate enough bumping into Kurogane & saturnine. After watching some cosplayer dancing with the crowd onstage, we decided to grab a bite & drink. Ended up at the same place where I had my morning drink so I ended up drinking more coffee, wheee (^_^).
While tucking into our beverage, there was a lively discussion & debate session. This ranges from anime, anime blogsphere and other topics. It was fun listening to the lively conversation between Kurogane and saturnine as they have way more knowledge than I am. Most of the time all I can do was (ﾟｰﾟ) (｡_｡) nod ^^.
After that we manage to catch up with the cosplay competition although I was like kinda far away so I didn’t get much of what was going onstage.
After the event comp ended, took some photo when the contestant and cosplayer were mingling around. Sure a lot of nice cosplayer at the event, with and eclectic choice of costume.
Dude was jamming to ‘God Knows..’. Nice ^^.
Since we had free time before the award presentation, Kuro & I decided to kill time by walking around the booth. We stop by at the Comic Fiesta booth where Kidchan was doing a demo. Sweet. First time I met her in real life, actually. All that I can think of during the demo session was ‘Wow’. Oh yeah, the finish pic can be viewed at DA.
Oh, apparently Faye was also at the CF booth as well when we were there, although I didn’t notice at that time since I was engross looking at kidchan demo. Sorry Faye ^^.
The award ceremony for the cosplay competition started around 5.40-ish. And here’s the result of the cosplay competition:
Best Prop: Zend (Hellboy)
Judges Favourite: Fenix (Prince from Suikoden)
Best Craftsmanship: Charmaine (Maya from Magna Carta:Crimson Stigmata)
Best Cosplayer: Yvonne (Justina Jorn from Magna Carta)
Crowd Favourite: Roxanne (Okitasougo from Gintama)
Congrats to all the winner’s.
Was too tired to do anything else so I headed home straight after the award ceremony. Oh, apparently since the strain of walking and standing around was too great for my leg, my calf muscle went awol and now (at the time of writing) I am now walking around with my best ‘pirate with a wooden peg as a leg’ gait. Oh joy (-__-‘).

Hey, I was wondering…I just found out what happens in the Clannad movie (as did my friends who watch Clannad, and I’m being mildly hated at the moment for my big mouth >_<;), and I need some anime to distract me. Would you have any reccomendations? Something more…laid back. (Love the Ouran HSHC reference, I started that m’self)
