An otaku(?) in Malaysia

Wouldn’t mind popping the tsundere one, truth be told…

Through reading various article in the otaku blogsphere, I’m introduce to the wonderful creation that is ∞ Puchi Puchi or infinite pop pop. Basically it is a keychain that emulate the feel of popping bubbles in a plastic wrap as well as providing a realistic sound effect as well. And apparently it was a hit with a healthy amount of sales. Must be something Freudian going there.

Well Bandai reckon it can make this product appeal to the otaku market as well. Through the rebranding, the little bubble popping machine is now known as well ∞ Puchi Puchi moé. There will be 4 sets of keychain, each featuring its own moé chara, that of an imouto, maid, osananajimi and a tsundere as well. And the best thing is that the moé chara will be voice by Kugimiya Rie.

After 50 or more so pops the keychain will talk back to you. Since each keychain has its own peculiar personality, the reply will be different. So the imouto type will probably spew something the line of ‘Onii-chan’ and the Tsundere with something harsh but cute. And apparently if you stop popping its bubble the keychain will say stuff to you to encourage you to resume. Strangely enough one of the phrases of encouragement will be ‘hentai!!’ Imagine that happening while you’re in a crowded place (train, bus etc, etc)..

And to help promote its ∞ Puchi Puchi moé keychain, Bandai has set up a website where one can read virtual blog of each chara, download wallpapers or choose a flash clock for your own personal use. I’m using the Tsundere chara clock, as you can see on the right side of my blog.

∞ Puchi Puchi moé will be price around 819 yen. I think I can afford that. If any of you out there have any idea where to buy this, don’t hesitate to share the info here.

Though sure as hell I won’t be playing this during my commute to work, lest I be mob bludgeon to death by annoyed fellow commuters.

And is it just me or is all the chara looks loli’ish?
