My new fav anime girl…Chihiro ftw ^^.
Got to stop watching this kind of show I tell you. But again…
I am a sucker for this kind of stuff ^^. Didn’t plan on watching this at all actually until a friend of mine invited me over to watch the whole Ef series in one go. She likes this kind of anime and despite my protestation that ‘this kind of anime doesn’t exactly fit my macho male image, I don’t like touchy feely stuff etc.etc,etc’ I eventually succumb to my curiosity in watching what, I reckon, was one of the best anime this season.
First thing first, I reckon the artwork was absolutely gorgeous. Production quality was pretty high. The artwork at the end of each episode is totally awesome, which is no surprise considering that it was drawn by accomplish illustrators of anime, manga, and visual novels. As for the music, above average I say. Not exactly what I call ‘great’ material but am not terrible either.
But what really makes Ef great for me was the character interaction. I especially like the story and interaction between Renji and Chihiro. As for the story between Kei, Miyako and Hiro I reckon it was decent but been done in other anime I watch which make it somewhat stale. Uh, bad move I guess. My friend, which like the whole Kei, Miyako & Hiro storyline better retaliate by saying that the Renji & Chihiro was like a rip off of 50 first dates. Uh, fair enough ^^.
Renji and Chihiro storyline was great (for me anyway) for a number of reasons. I mean I really feel Chihiro haplessness of her condition. How Renji tries to help her. The interaction between these two. The love that blossoms soon after. It was beautiful.
A truly emotional scene when Chihiro, deciding that she doesn’t want to hurt her anymore, scatter all her diary pages that contain the entry of her memories with Renji into the gale wind. Irritational, yes but it was so…sad.
And yes, I was grinning when Renji and Chihiro were reunited in the end. Truly poignant. Now that what I called a fairytale ending.
God I love this anime (^_^).

When I first watched episode 1 and 2..it was boring..
And I even thought of dropping the series (glad I didn’t do that)
The series got better from episode 3 and onwards..
Definitely one of the most memorable anime of 2007..

I’ve read a lot of good reviews about this anime. I guess I’ll just have to join the bandwagon and watch it once and for all ^^

Luckily i picked this series up. certainly one of the better ones of the fall anime season.
i picked this series because of the top 50 in Animenewsnetwork. XD I mean it just came out a few months ago and it hit the top 50s already so yea. ahaha gonna watch it soon. Download finish already just no time to watch
