More AS madness from Full Metal Panic…
Was browsing through anime/otaku blogsphere when I stumble upon this awesome info. OMG, Is that the Laevatein I see? Apparently at Revoltech Expo a prototype of the Laevatein was displayed. Refer to the pics below…
Judging from the pictures above, the Laevatein is shown armed with its 165 mm haubitze cannon. Nice actions pose there, with its heat dispensing wire prominently shown. Kinda remind us of a Codarl AS, ne? The detailing of the Laevatein looks above average, I reckon.

After ARX-7 ‘Arbalest’ destruction at the hands of Leonard Testarossa’s Belial, Mithril’s agent “Wraith” managed to salvage its AI unit and Lambda Driver system. With the help of the remnants of the Mithril force, the AI unit designed a new AS that is custom tuned to Sagara Sousuke’s combat technique.
The Laevatein is almost entirely designed for direct combat capabilities. Featuring a high-output powerplant and an enhanced musculature, it has exceptional strength and mobility. When combined with the Lambda Driver, it is even able to tear apart enemy mechas with its bare hands. In addition to the regular pair of arms, two mechanical arms are attached between the upper torso and the shoulder joints. Controlled entirely by the AI, these arms can deliver various weapons to the main arms, or take direct action such as throwing anti-AS grenades. Since the AI is familiar with Sousuke’s combat habits, it will choose the best weapon for the present environment.
The 165mm cannon is not a regular AS equipment, however. When firing, the Laevatein needs to utilize the Lambda Driver to stabilize itself.
It was seen completed at the end of the novel ‘Burning One Man Force’, and was delivered to Sousuke during the eighth novel. During the first combat against Amalgam forces in the events of ‘Get Together and Make My Day’ .
The Laevatein will be released in April 2008. Can’t wait until I can get my hand on one of those ^^.

Not too familiar with the FMP universe, but is that supposed to be some sort of Arbalest Mk2 or something?
