Let’s hope they include a GAR Roy Focker like character as well…
Well, I’m pretty much in a (slightly) happy mode when the announcement that a new Macros series is in production. And yes, I was (slightly) salivating when I saw the trailer. Before I go any further, here’s the trailer at YouTube:
Well, judging by the trailer, I reckon it look all right. The vf-25 looks awesome, though I reckon it does have some resemblance with Wildraubtier, but hey that just me. The animation quality is definitely above average, but since we are talking about studio Satelight (the studio that brought us Macross Zero and Aquarion, among others) that’s to be expected. Lots of gun, missile and thing that go ‘bang’ sequence which is a big plus in my book. And the music should rock as well with Yoko Kanno herself helming the music.
Having said that, I wish the storyline itself wouldn’t turn out to be a dreary one. I know that no less than Shōji Kawamori himself is overseeing the project, it’s just I hope that the storyline wouldn’t be too laden with philosophical stuff that it spoils the story. And this is just me but the main male character is too bishie for my taste. But again that is just my personal taste.

Thanks Akiraman for the original post ^^.

I checked out the trailer a couple of days ago. I have to say that the CGI looks kind of sketchy.
Hmmm… Looks to me, the boy(protagonist) might be flying the VF-25 via remote control like video games or maybe not. This could be sort of like follow a Macross 7 spinoff manga “Trash” where the characters are more into relationships than warfare. Hate to spoil your little fanstasy but after years as a Macross fan, you should understand the true meanings of Macross…
Macross 7 FTW
this Macross Frontier as famous as Gundam00
