A MG Strike Freedom. Yare,yare…
Thanks to my elder brother, I’m now a proud owner of a MG Strike Freedom. Thing is, truth be told, I am feeling kinda daunted in putting together the Strike Freedom. It’s been 9 + years since the last time I’ve build a gunpla model (yes, that long). So what better, I reckon than to turn to experience folk on the net (i.e. you know who you are ^^ ) for advice and guidance. In preparation for putting together the model, I have bought several modeling tool including:
• Modelling clippers
• Modelling file
• A decent retractable knife
Other than this, what do you folks thing I should get? Since I will start building it on the weekends, I still have couple of days to shop the things I need for the initial building stage.
The way I see this unfolding is that It will take awhile for me to put the whole thing together as probably I don’t have the time nor energy to finish in one weekend. A couple of weeks more likely if I include the detailing process (I’m a slow poke, I know ^^).
Well, any suggestion, tips or guidance are more than welcome. I’ll be putting this post on the pages section so that people can easily drop a hint, guidance or comment on my Strike Freedom Build Project.

Be patient and there are losta sites and videos on building gunpla out there. Just google them.
You will have a lot of fun putting it together and posing it!
I’m not too experienced in Gunpla modeling since I started this past summer but I’ll be glad to help. The tools you mention are the only tools that I start out with, with the exception of Gundam markers.
I highly recommend you use Gundam Markers. For the Strike Freedom, for the most part I’ve had to cut the parts from the runner before inking them, although the big parts of the strike are easier to ink when it’s still on the runner. Inking really makes a TREMENDOUS difference.
One part that I do not ink is the head. I’ve seen people ink their head and for me, some don’t look right for some reason. However I do lightly ink the face mask (3 lines).
Awesome pic of the Strike Freedom by the way.
well.. i am also a newbie at gunpla building. i am not that pro yet.. i start with a nail cutter.. n the effect is quite well too. the Gundam Marker.. i recommend you use it. it really makes a tremendous difference.
for the white parts, i suggest you use grey/purple/ or brown colour. for the deeper colour part, u can use black colour.

Just wondering, where did you get that picture you posted of Strike Freedom? I’d really like to get my hands on the source.
I was wondering about some custom ideas. What paint is it best to use with gundam models? I mean yeah not to many people paint, but it would be nice to know. since I am working on my own custom idea here.
