An otaku(?) in Malaysia

Had a discussion with a friend of mine recently. Both of us are fans of Seto No Hanayome over a cup of coffee. Yes, we had fun talking about the merits of San-chan in Neko Mimi + Maid Mode. Then our conversation turn to Shiranui Akeno. With caffeine in our bloodstream, sparks + bombs begin to fly…

First thing first, this will be a simplified version of what me and my buddy were talking about, and I kinda forgot some (important) facts that were mention as well. We were talking about Nagasumi romantic interest. After all the usual suspect (San,luna etc…), we turn to Shiranui Akeno. I believe that Akeno will fall (or is) in love with Nagasumi. I base this on the assumption of a harem anime, the girls in it must at least have feelings for the male protagonist. I argue as in episode 21, she was at the scene where Inchou wanted to confess to Nagasumi. She was worried enough about the confession to be there.

My friend countered by saying that Akeno feeling is no more than being friendly to Nagasumi. Maybe because of all her travelling she gets lonely and found the companionship with Nagasumi & co as refreshing. He gave me some example to reinforce his view such as the ending of episode 18 when Akeno forgive Nagasumi. The vibe is that of a friendship, not romance.

In the end we can’t decide who is the correct one, as both of us are too stubborn to concede the point. Well, Maybe those helpful souls out there can give a solution for this problem ^^. Nothing like a third party help, I reckon. And yes, I still wish they produce a Dakimura using the picture above XD.
