An otaku(?) in Malaysia

Been looking around for something new series I haven’t watched yet. Stumble through Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica (SSP) while browsing through the ‘library’. After watching the first episode, I reckon it’s all right. Well, I decided to blog bout this series. First thing first, some info about the Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica.

Synopsis:

In the continent of Polyphonica, spirits exist in the world. While the spirits don’t appear often, some spirits have enough power to materialize in human or animal forms and live together with humans. These powerful spirits survive on divine music played by individual who are called Dantist.
Dantists, who play special music called ‘Commandia’, is either respected or feared in Polyphonica. Most Dantist usually are in contract with powerful spirits. In Shinkyoku Sokai Polyphonica, the story revolves around an apprentice Dantist, Phoron Tatara, and the spirit that he made contract with, Corticarte Apas Lagranges plus their friends and the world their lives in.

Dramatis Personae:

Corticarte Apa Lagranges

Corticarte Apa Lagranges.or Corti is a powerful spirit who posses six wings. Corti has many titles such as The Crimson Goddess and Bloody Duchess. She made a contract with a young Phoron. Corti has two forms, her chibi-loli and original form. Most of the time she is chibi-loli, only reverting to her original form when she needs power for some serious butt kicking. She is a classic Tsundere character.

Phoron Tatara

The Dantist who made a contract with Corti. Works at Tsuge Divine Music Player Office. Although technically master to Corti, Corti is the more dominant between those two. He uses a bike which turns into an organ like instrument.

Eufinley Tsuge

The boss at Tsuge Divine Music Player Office. Very strict and dedicated when working.

Renbart Psyche

Works at Tsuge Divine Music Player. Renbart a friend of Phoron.

Perserte Yugiri

Works at Tsuge Divine Music Player though the reason she works there because she wants to meet Phoron.

Prinesca Yugiri

Prinesca Yugiri is the younger twin sister to Perserte Yugiri.

Akatsuki Dirrane

A Dantitst that wields a piano like instrument. First appeared in Episode 3.

Mailreit

A powerful spirit who made a contract with Akatsuki Dirrane.

My Impression of the Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica:

Well, after watching 3 episodes, SSP is not exactly a spectacular anime. The storyline does sound good. At the moment the plot is average, it centre’s around the interaction by Corti and phoron with the world of Polyphonica. The animation quality is average, though I’m watching MQ quality of the video. Despite all of the negative things, I still reckon SSP is worth watching. Maybe it’s because Corti can change between Loli and adult form. Maybe…
